About AAMS

Acute Ambulance & Medical Services Ltd was established in 2006, and has grown to become the largest independent ambulance service in Buckinghamshire supporting the NHS Ambulance Trust in Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire.
There is a new law about regulating health and adult social care in England. From 1 October 2010, every health and adult social care service in England is legally responsible for making sure it meets new essential standards of quality and safety. Care Quality Commission Health and Social Care Act 2008 Notice of decision to register a service provider in respect of a regulated activity subject to agreed conditions: Acute Ambulance & Medical Services Reference number: DA9415_1. Please follow the care Quality Commission link in the right side of this page for more information.

AAMS is accredited to the National Association of Private Ambulance Services, a self-regulatory body ensuring the standards and conduct of its members. We reinforce these standards with our own company policies and procedures, ensuring the highest quality of service you would expect.

AAMS is also a founder member of the Independent Ambulance Association.

AAMS specialises in the transportation of renal patients. We have extensive experience in managing these patients on a regular basis and understand the importance and impact transport can have on the lives of the patient and the Renal Units whose care the patients are under.

We also excel in Transfer of Care and have an excellent reputation providing hospital transfer and discharge lounges with a sensitive and “Patient First” approach to ensure not just a trouble-free transfer, but the “settling in” of patients upon reaching their transfer destination.

Who We Are

AAMS was formed in 2006 and rapidly established itself as a provider of excellence in the fields of Ambulance Transportation and Event Cover.

Working closely with local hospitals, Primary Care Trusts and NHS Ambulance Trusts in the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire areas, our provision of service excellence has helped us to grow steadily since our formation.

We provide medical teams for amateur boxing throughout Northamptonshire and cover the annual Tri-athlon series in Bedfordshire. We also provide medical cover for corporate event days, team building activities and larger sporting and social occasions.

We have formed strategic partnerships with several third parties in order to help us achieve our goals.

ECG Training have developed a bespoke package for us, which ensures all employees keep their clinical skills honed and up to date.

Simon Hall provides advanced driving tuition with annual refresher courses for emergency blue light driving.

Auto Electrical Services provide TomTom Webfleet, which is our booking, messaging and tracking system.

England Hockey have worked with AAMS for many years in planning and delivery domestic and international hockey events and have always been extremely satisfied with their performance.

The events team are always excellent with their pre-event and on-event communication and their provision of medical plans and risk assessments help us plan our events with great confidence. The onsite team is always punctual, professional and very courteous in working with our staff, volunteers and other client groups on site. The service level provided, especially caring of patients, is exemplary and we now use AAMS for all our England Hockey events, including schools, club competitions and international matches at the FIH Pro League. We would not hesitate to recommend AAMS to other sports organisations.

Just a belated note to say Thank you to AAMS for your support during our Civil War Weekend.

After a rather boring Sunday, it all went off on the Monday with 5 casualties all told if I counted correctly! I thought your team showed a very calm but efficient front in dealing with so much at once and that helped greatly to continue the smooth running of the event.

We will certainly bear you in mind for future events.
