Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

First aiders are an integral part of workplace safety. The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

Intended Audience

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Overview

During this 1 day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries. Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)

Over a 3 day period, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more. Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the opportunity to develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency paediatric first aid situations which could arise when looking after children.

Intended Audience

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for:

Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.

Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children, and wants to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Newly qualified entrants to an early years setting who have completed a level 2 and/or level 3 qualification on or after 30th June 2016, must also have either a full Paediatric First Aid or an Emergency Paediatric First Aid certificate within three months of starting work.

Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF)

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) (FREC3) covers the full range of skills required by the HSE for first aid, and is the leading qualification for events cover. For those with further ambitions, it also forms the first step towards a career in prehospital care.

This qualification has been reviewed by Training Centres and updated to ensure it is in line with learner requirements and viable for delivery, making it one of the leading Prehospital Care qualifications on the market. Intended Audience

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, ideal for those looking to work or volunteer as a first responder.

Among the first to arrive at a scene, first responders typically include police officers, firefighters, and those providing medical cover at festivals and events such as Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives and Security Guards as well as those working in high risk environments including the military, power stations, agriculture and manufacturing.

As the next step for those who have completed the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF), this qualification provides learners with a wider scope of practice in Prehospital care emergencies, allowing for greater employment opportunities.

Intended Audience

The Qualsafe Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised Prehospital care qualification specifically designed for those looking to progress their career within the NHS or independent ambulance services as an emergency care assistant, intermediate ambulance practitioner, event medical provider, associate practitioner or healthcare assistant.

It is also ideal for those who are looking to work within specialist roles in the military, police and fire services.

Qualsafe Level 4 Award in Out of Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support (RQF)

Launched in January 2024, Qualsafe Level 4 Award in Out of Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support (RQF) replaces the withdrawn Qualsafe Level 4 Award in Immediate Life Support (RQF) qualification.

Intended Audience

The Qualsafe Level 4 Award in Out of Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide out of hospital emergency care to patients requiring emergency and urgent care.

Careful consideration has been given to the structure of this qualification, making sure that learning is comprehensive and is relevant to those working as emergency care providers, ambulance support workers or associate ambulance practitioners, registered healthcare professionals and those in specialist roles within the emergency services and military.

Overview

Over one day, learners’ performance will be optimised to deal with a deteriorating patient, resuscitation attempts and related events. The qualification will develop their existing knowledge and skills in patient assessment, devising a working diagnosis and recognising deterioration and management. Learners’ existing skills will also be developed so that they work effectively in a team to resuscitate patients in medical or traumatic cardiac arrest, in the out of hospital/prehospital environment.

Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all early years providers in England to have at least one person who has a current and full paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and available at all times when children are present.This blended course does not replace the 2 day, 12 hour all classroom course, but offers an excellent alternative for those who are simply unable to spare the time to attend 2 days in a classroom only course.

 

Providers should also take into account the number of children, staff and layout of the premises and increase their paediatric first aid provision accordingly to ensure that a paediatric first aider is available to respond to emergencies quickly.

Intended Audience

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for:

Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation & Automated External Defibrilation

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).Learning AED skills is becoming more important with the increase in the numbers of units in the community and workplace. They are easy to use with a little training and make a real difference in the chance of survival to someone in cardiac arrest. If you have already completed any other first aid course you will understand the importance of prompt use of an AED making this an ideal next course to take to develop your skills.
